Show you can support yourself and your family when you come to Canada.
The employer must also meet certain requirements.

Atlantic International Graduate Program

In general, you must meet these requirements:

Have a degree, diploma or other credential from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province.
Have lived in an Atlantic province for at least 16 months in the 2 years before getting your degree, diploma or credential.
Take a language test to show you can communicate in English or French.
Show you can support yourself and your family when you come to Canada.
The employer must also meet certain requirements.

Apply for a temporary work permit (Optional)

If you meet the requirements to apply for permanent resident status under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, you may be eligible to apply for a temporary work permit. You must have:
A job offer from a designated employer that meets the requirements of the program you’re applying under a Referral Letter from the Atlantic province where you’ll be working. Your employer will ask for a Referral Letter at the same time they apply to have your job offer endorsed by the province.
The permit is valid for 1 year and only lets you work for the employer who offered you the job. You must send your permanent resident application within 90 days of submitting your temporary work permit application.

Each program has its own requirements. These requirements cover:

The job that you’ll have in the Atlantic province
Your skills, experience and education
Your ability to communicate in English or French
Your ability to support yourself and your family in Canada
Your intent to reside in the Atlantic province

Get your documents ready before your job offer

You must send documents with your application. You can get these documents before you have a job offer. Getting these documents can help let you apply faster when you have a job offer.
Language: You must take a language test and send the results with your application. You must do this even if you studied in Canada Education. If you studied outside Canada, you’ll need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report. This shows how your education compares to a Canadian one.
Proof of funds: When you arrive in Canada, you must have enough money to support yourself and your family. Learn how much money you should have when you arrive in Canada.
There are other documents you must include in your application.

Your application package is complete when you have:

Answered all of the questions on the application form, and submitted all the necessary documents along with your application. If you forget to send a document, your application may be returned to you, the processing of your application may be delayed, or your application may be refused.

Get a job offer

If an Atlantic employer offers you a job, make sure it meets the requirements of the program you qualify for. The employer will give you an Offer of Employment to a Foreign National form Sign it. Keep a copy of the form because you’ll need it for your settlement plan.

  • The highest-ranking applicant will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a Quebec Certificate of Selection under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.
  • Quebec will conduct periodic draws of the profile, inviting candidates to apply for a Quebec certificate of selection (CSQ).
  • After receiving an invitation applicant will have 90 days to submit a full application.
  • The one who receives a nomination certificate (CSQ) will be eligible to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Requirements for Quebec Expression of Interest

The one who submitted a profile in Arrima portal is given rank for their educational qualification, work experience, age, language proficiency and time spent in Quebec.

  • A valid job offer will give the candidates preference
  • The qualifications of a candidate’s spouse or partner will also be considered.

  • Have a post-graduate work permit, obtained following the graduation from an eligible study program in Quebec
  • Have a work permit with a validity of at least 12 months and they have worked in Quebec full-time for at least 6 months.

These candidates will be ranked based on the following criteria:

  • Age-
  • Level of education
  • Diploma obtained in Quebec
  • Proficiency in French Proficiency i
  • other languages
  • Work experience in Canada or in the United States
  • Spouse/common-law partner’s qualifications:
  • Level of education and proficiency in the French language.

Transferability skills:

Level of education with French proficiency (either the main applicant’s or the spouse’s, depending on which score is highest)
Level of education with French proficiency and work experience in Canada or US
Foreign work experience with French proficiency
Foreign work experience with French proficiency and work experience in Canada or US

The second category refers to candidates who are not residing in Quebec. They will be ranked on the following criteria

  • Age
  • Level of education
  • Area of training in-demand, as published by the government
  • Diploma obtained in Quebec
  • Proficiency in French
  • Proficiency in other languages
  • Work experience in Canada or in the United States
  • Spouse/common-law partner’s qualifications: level of education and proficiency in the French language.

Transferability skills:

  • Level of education with French proficiency (either the main applicant’s or the spouse’s, depending on which score is highest)
  • Level of education with French proficiency and work experience in Canada or US
  • Foreign work experience with French proficiency
