The immigration system of the United Kingdom is points-based. Any foreign student who wants to study or work in the UK can apply under the UK employment visa category. The nationals of EU, EFTA and Switzerland can apply for this visa.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For A UK Work Visa From Dubai?

The eligibility is based on the type of visa the applicant is applying under. There are various visa categories for various cases. However, the most expected categories include temporary worker visas.

If you are a resident of an EU or EFTA nation, then you can live and work in the UK visa-free. Every EU or EFTA resident requires a UK work visa. Also, residents of various countries can come to the UK and live for a minimum of 6 months visa-free.

What Are The Essential Requirements For A UK Work Visa?

If you are outside the EU or EFTA looking for work within the UK, then you would need a work visa. A majority of the UK work permits need sponsorships from a local company.

At the moment, the UK work permits are obtainable to casual or low-skilled jobs. Thus, it is not feasible to cross the borders on any other visa and engage in casual or temporary jobs. These are the groups of individuals who are excluded from the UK work permit requirements:

·       Members of Commonwealth or overseas territories armed forces who are posted to the United Kingdom.
·       Diplomats who were not in the UK while offered the post.
·       Officials working for a head of state
